Well who would believe that on October 12th last year we were a foot deep in snow!
The bush fires that affected the Springwood and Lithgow areas in the last couple of weeks of October have now been downgraded and are no longer causing concern to the main tourist areas of Katoomba, Leura and Wentworth Falls.
We are fortunate at Crimson Villa to have the Regional Emergency Centre close by and the South Katoomba Fire Brigade in the bushland reserve in front of us providing an extra safety net.
We also have our own fire plan in place for our guests and have done fire protection works to our front garden as fire mitigation to make us a safer place.
All the main tourist attractions are open as are the main walking tracks on the southern side of the highway. Scenic World, 3 Sisters and even the trip to Jenolan Caves are all available to enjoy.
See map of where fires were….
